What is this Winmail.dat file? How do I open that?

We use Mozilla Thunderbird (and Lightning calendar) in the office for our email and calendar.

The problem is, it does not fully understand the format of messages sent from some MS Outlook clients. These emails often come through with attachments such as “Winmail.dat”. This plug-in resolves this, and allows you to open these attachments
